New racquets for 2026
It is soon time to close out the year and review the releases we had in 2025 (there were many!), but we’ll start by discussing some new racquets for 2026.
Spin racquets
More and more players are switching to spin and power-oriented racquets and there will therefore be a lot of excitement around the new Babolat Pure Aero and the update to the Yonex VCORE. Both racquet lines were released in 2023, and three years later, we are due for an update. The Aero is a bestselling racquet alongside the Wilson Blade 98 and we have seen an increase in players using the VCORE on tour. The 98 sq inch models in these lines are everywhere these days as they give you a mix of power, control and spin that is ideal for the modern game.
I tried the Pure Aero 2026 briefly at an event during the summer in a prototype cosmetic (see pic), and it has a different mold and layup. Still, it felt familiar and as a fan of the Aero 2023, that is a good thing. I am keen to test it properly once I get a demo.
For the VCORE, I think the VCORE 98 Tour was their best racquet, but overall the line had a little too much flex and dampening for my taste. Yonex are brave when it comes to overhauling entire lines and I think we can expect another big change for the 2026 VCORE.
Wilson will finally release a spin-focused line. I am sure you have seen their new black spin racquet used by players like Khachanov, Korda, and Tsitsipas, to name a few. This will be a very exciting release to follow.
Even if these lines are very popular, it obviously does not mean they suit everyone. Players who want more confidence and less explosiveness will likely be more excited about the new Blade V10.
Control racquets
Wilson will update their bestselling line, the Blade, to V10. Can they keep up the excitement around the Blade? What can we expect in terms of changes? More power? Different mold? Or just a layup change? Since the Blade is so popular, like with the Aero and the VCORE, the update is significant for the brand, and I don’t expect much risk-taking in terms of cosmetics or specifications.
Besides the Blade, there will also be a new Pro Staff. Now that Roger has his own line with the RF racquets, what will happen to the Pro Staff? I predict fewer models, but since there are so many fans of the 97, it would be a strange move to discontinue that.

HEAD will update the Prestige and we will see a completely new racquet line from them. From what I understand, not all Prestige models will remain as it is their weakest line from a sales perspective. I do hope they keep the HEAD Prestige Pro, as that is my favorite one and the one with the strongest Prestige heritage.
Before those lines hit the shelves and before the end of 2025, we will be treated to the new Dunlop FX V3 racquets (click for the video review). I have been testing them in the prototype cosmetic, and I have been very impressed.
Tecnifibre will do an overhaul of their TFX1 as well and I am sure there will be some other exciting updates from different brands.
Which new release are you most excited about?
I’m most excited for the new Price Tour. I hope the build and quality control are better. I demo’ed it 3 times with significant differences in feel, weight, and stability each time. I loved it the second time and was interested in switching until the third time.

Hi Danny, from what I’ve heard, it’s more about power. No idea about a new Boom, but I guess it is time.
When in 2026 is the expected release date for the new Pure Aero?

Hi TN, do you have any other impressions or thoughts on the TF-X1 update? I have the v1 and I love it, though the swing weight is high so it can feel like a hammer. Would be nice to have a cosmetic update too.
Hey Matthew, I don’t know what they plan for V3 except the name change. I will test V2 300 shortly (only tried the 98 so far). Review to come!
I have (and really like) a prostaff 97L. I was about to buy a prostaff v14 315g. Would you advise to wait until next year to test new prostaff and blade?
