Last match of the day on Tuesday will be a good one between one of the favorites for the title, Stefanos Tsitsipas and world 11 ranked Alex de Minaur, in the round of 16 of the 2024 Italian Open.

Tsitsipas started the season quite slow and it was a surprise for many to see his dominance in Monte Carlo. Since then we’ve seen the real Tsitsipas in great form and I believe he is one of the main contenders for the Rome title.

The 25-year-old Greek battled off in-form Jan-Lennard Struff in his first match 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 and followed up by a more straight forward win over Cameron Norrie 7-6, 6-2.

De Minaur is always a dangerous opponent and this year he has a 25-9 record, however he might not get the best out of his game, especially the speed, when playing in these slow clay tournaments.

He reach this round by beating Caraballes Baena in straight sets, followed by a hard fought win over Felix Auger-Aliassime (6-7, 6-4, 6-4).

H2H Stats, Tsitsipas vs De Minaur

These two players know each other very well and it’s quite extraordinary stats between them. Tsitsipas lead their h2h meetings 10 to 1 on the ATP tour which is quite impressive against such a good player.

While the Australian won their most recent meeting in Acapulco, Tsitsipas have a crushing record before that and won all their meetings on clay.

Tsitsipas vs De Minaur Prediction: Tsitsipas to win in 2 sets, at odds 1.90 | -110

I feel the Greek is managing to maintain his great form that he shown all the clay season and in this matchup both the surface and general form should give him an advantage.
