We’re now heading to Flushing Meadows for the final Grand Slam of the season and here we’ll take a look at the odds for the top favorites this year. The 2026 US Open men’s field has been reshaped by a combination of injury, absence and of course the Alcaraz comeback. With the main draw scheduled for August 30 through September 13, several familiar contenders arrive with very different questions to answer.
The result is a tournament that feels unusually open.
Men’s Singles Odds
The men’s draw has experienced a significant shake-up in the weeks before the tournament. World No. 1 Jannik Sinner’s withdrawal due to his knee injury, while defending champion Carlos Alcaraz returns from a four-month injury layoff without playing a warm-up tournament.

The defending champion, Carlos Alcaraz, returns to the tour after missing roughly four months with a right-wrist injury. His last match came in April, making the US Open his first competitive event since the setback. Alcaraz has the experience and game to contend immediately, but the absence of match play creates a genuine unknown. It feels like a bet on him is a real gamble and the odds are not good enough.
Zverev remains one of the most consistent threats on hard courts and has repeatedly put himself in contention at the majors. His first serve and consistency has been extremely good this season even though we’ve seen a small dip in form in recent weeks. In best of 5 sets, he will be many bettors favorite still.
Then of course, there’s always Djokovic, which can never be counted out. Is this his best chance to claim that 25th Slam? He surely knows how to manage the physical and tactical demands of a long major but can he still manage those demands of a seven-match tournament.
Who else?
Well, there are plenty of in-form players that has a good chance for a deep run in New York this year. Not at least some of the Americans. It’s been 23 years since an American man last won a Grand Slam singles title… (Andy Roddick at the 2003 US Open).
Taylor Fritz is the 2024 runner-up and he remains one of the most obvious American contenders and the form is good this season.
Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe are two other Americans that bring very different styles to the draw. I would not be surprised to see Shelton challenge for the title this time, currently at odds 8.50 (+750) in the outright US Open odds.
Arthur Fils is a player that many will be looking at, following his title in Cincinnati. I think he clearly belongs in the top 10 (or top 5!) in the near future, but I’m not sure he’s got what it takes already to claim his first Slam.
The last player I would mention is Rafa Jodar. Yes, he’s only 19 years but what he has shown this season is quite unbelievable, and it would not be a complete shock to see him towards the end of this year’s US Open.
Many bettors wait for the main draw to be released before placing any bets, which is often a smart thing to do, but now can also be the time to find very decent odds on players that has the chance to surprise.
Our winner prediction for the 2026 US Open? I’ll go with Zverev to come back in form and claim his second Grand Slam title.
