I know, we’ve just started the 2026 season, but still, the ATP has taken the proactive step of announcing the official calendar for 2027. There are not many big changes but the schedule reinforces the “OneVision” strategic plan, featuring 59 tournaments across 29 countries, showing a commitment to stability and the continued growth of the premium events.

Coming off a great 2025 season that saw a record 5.55 million fans attend live events, the 2027 calendar aims to maintain this momentum by sticking to a proven formula while further integrating the “enhanced” tournament formats.

Key Highlights of the 2027 Schedule

The 2027 season will officially begin on January 1, 2027, with the United Cup in Australia. The structure of the year remains familiar but lean, focusing on high-value events:

  • Grand Slams: All four majors remain in their traditional slots, starting with the Australian Open on January 17.
  • Masters 1000s: Nine tournaments are scheduled, with seven utilizing the expanded 12-day format (96-player draws). Monte-Carlo and Paris remain the exceptions.
  • Tournament Breakdown:
    • 16 ATP 500 events.
    • 29 ATP 250 events.
    • Team Competitions: The United Cup, Laver Cup, and Davis Cup are all confirmed.
  • Season Finales: The Nitto ATP Finals will return to Italy for the seventh time, while the host city for the Next Gen ATP Finals is expected to be confirmed later this year.

OneVision and Player Compensation

ATP Chairman Andrea Gaudenzi emphasized that the 2027 calendar is designed to “keep raising the bar” for fan experience and player benefits. Central to the schedule are the profit-sharing agreements and the OneVision reforms, which have already led to record levels of prize money and financial security for players ranked in the Top 250.

“Our focus is on unlocking greater value by elevating our top-tier events and delivering the very best of our sport to the fans,” Gaudenzi stated in the official release.

Looking Ahead to 2028

While 2027 focuses on continuity, insiders note that this “bridge year” sets the stage for 2028, which is rumoured to include more significant disruptions, such as a potential tenth Masters 1000 event in Saudi Arabia. For now, the 2027 schedule provides us with a clear and reliable roadmap for the future.
