In yet another shift for the 2025 ATP Tour, the Belgrade Open, a staple of the ATP 250 calendar since its inception in 2009, will relocate to Athens, Greece, and be rebranded as the Hellenic Championship. The tournament, scheduled for November 2–8, 2025, marks a new chapter for professional tennis in Greece, bringing many of the top ranked players to the historic city for the first time in decades. The move, confirmed by official sources from the ATP Tour, reflects the organization’s ongoing efforts to optimize its global calendar.
The Belgrade Open, previously held at the Novak Tennis Center and other venues in Serbia, has been a significant event for Serbian tennis fans, notably as a platform for Novak Djokovic, who won the title in 2009 and 2011.
The Hellenic Championship will be played on indoor hard court at OAKA Basketball Arena.
“We look forward to welcoming the tennis world to Greece this November.” said the organizers, and continued: “ATP 250 Hellenic Championship is organised by the experienced team behind nine previous international tournaments in Belgrade.”
The relocation of the Belgrade Open is part of a broader restructuring of the ATP Tour calendar recently, which includes several other significant changes.
Several ATP 250 tournaments – Estoril (Portugal), Córdoba (Argentina), Newport (USA), Atlanta (USA), and Lyon (France) – have been removed from the schedule. In their place, the Bucharest/Tiriac Open has taken Estoril’s calendar slot, ensuring Romania retains a presence on the tour. Additionally, Munich (Germany), Doha (Qatar), and Dallas (USA) have been upgraded to ATP 500 status recently, elevating their prize money and prestige. The Canada Open and Cincinnati Masters has expanded to 12-day events with 96-player draws, aligning them with other Masters 1000 tournaments, and Los Cabos has shifted back to a summer slot.
Anyone heading over to Greece this autumn for the new ATP 250 event?

Planning to head over from South Dakota. Huge Stefanos fan and always wanted to go to Greece. Two birds with one stone! Awaiting details so I can book my flight. Very exciting!
