Berrettini’s serve was fantastic on Sunday, as he fired 13 aces and faced zero break points.
“I’m so proud of myself, proud of my teammates,” Berrettini said in an emotional on-court interview.
Cobolli Completed the Comeback
The weight of history then fell onto 23-year-old Flavio Cobolli in the second singles rubber against Spain’s Jaume Munar. The tie looked to be heading for a deciding doubles match when Munar stormed through the first set 6-1 and broke early in the second, however…
In a spectacular comeback, Cobolli mounted a fantastic rally for his nation. He clawed back the break in the second set, eventually winning a tight tie-break 7-6(5) to force a decider. The final set was tense, but Cobolli found the decisive breakthrough at 5-5 and served out the match to love, collapsing to the court in jubilation.

Cobolli’s 1-6, 7-6(5), 7-5 victory capped a remarkable week where he twice delivered the decisive point for Italy.
Captain Filippo Volandri was visibly emotional, praising his team’s unity. “We had tough moments, but as a group, we had the power to manage this moment,” he stated, adding that the victory felt as important as their previous two, even without Sinner.
