The French Open Draw
It’s out and it’s cruel. At least for John Isner who faces Rafael Nadal in the first round. I’m talking about the French Open draw. If we break it down into quarters, the first quarter definitely has Nadal as the semi-finalist although you would put up a warning sign on Robin Soderling, because the Swede […]
French Open Predictions…
Coming as soon as the draw is out on Friday! Watch this space and also keep your eye on the Roland Garros official page.
Murray vs Djokovic – Tennis From Another Planet
I said in my post before the match that the Rome Masters semifinal against Murray might be a tough one for Djokovic as he must be getting tired after all these matches. And it was! After being outplayed in the first set (6-1 to Djoko) Murray started playing some amazing clay court tennis, defending and […]
My Take On Tennis: May 9, 2011
Today I’m cheering Kei Nishikori in his ATP Rome Masters first round match against Gael Monfils. A few thoughts the early Rome action. Let’s do it kinda bullet form to make it easier to read (and write) – I’ll call it “My Take On Tennis: (date)” Verdasco beat Raonic 6-4 6-4 yesterday after “trash-talking” him […]
What’s Going On in Madrid Masters Right Now?
Federer and Nadal on adjacent practice courts. Please put them on a match court as well! At the time of writing Afro Murray has just lost the first set to Bellucci and we’re seeing how Murray’s passive playing style can be a problem against guys who can control the court like Bellucci can when he […]
The Magic Box in Madrid
ATP Masters in Madrid is under way and we have already seen Roddick and Fish crash out of the tournament. Roddick looked completely lost on the red stuff against Italian qualifier Cipolla and although he showed some fighting spirit he lost in three sets and it seems like he just cannot wait to get this […]
ATP Tour Tennis Today, April 30
Hmmmm…what’s on the menu for the tennis fan today? We’ll have action from Munich, Serbia and Estoril so let’s have a quick look… Djokovic plays his good friend and “imitator” Janko Tipsarevic in Serbia Open. Tipsarevic is playing good tennis at the moment, but I doubt him taking a set from the Djoker. It looks […]
The Return of the Monster Forehand – Fernando Gonzales
Fernando Gonzales’ return to top tennis after close to a year of injury time out was successful after he beat Martin Klizan 6-2 6-4. Gonzales commented on the win: “Obviously I’m really happy for that, but I was scared at what was going to happen, and I felt good [out there]. The conditions were tough […]
Monte Carlo Masters Final Prediction Nadal vs Ferrer
What do you think if you give me ten games and I give you a five strokes on the golf course afterwards? Another Ferrer vs Nadal run-fest! There is no point in predicting another winner than Rafa but Ferrerrrrrr should give him a RUN for his money. I think something like 7-5 6-3 in Rafa’s […]
Monte Carlo Masters Predictions April 15
Well, there’s not much excitement in predicting today’s matches. Troicki vs Ferrer Ferrer has played great tennis at the start of the year with a semi-final at Australian Open and a win at Heineken open. He is as usual in great shape and forces his opponents to come up with some pretty fantastic tennis to […]
