The 2025 WTA season culminates today in the final at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, featuring a highly-anticipated match between two in-form players in Aryna Sabalenka and Elena Rybakina.
Both players have stormed through the tournament with undefeated 4-0 records, and it’s not easy predicting matches between these two.
Sabalenka showed her power and experience, battling through a three-set US Open final rematch in the semi-finals against Anisimova to reach her second WTA Finals title match.
Rybakina has been in great form, especially on her serve, and demonstrated her own fighting spirit by coming back from a set down against Pegula to book her place in a maiden WTA Finals final.
H2H
This will be the 14th career meeting between these two, with virtually all contests taking place on hard courts. Their matches are renowned for their high-quality, aggressive tennis, with a significant number going the distance.
The world no 1 has a small lead with 8-5 in her favour, and she’s been the strongest one in the most important of the recent events.
Predictions and Odds
Expect a close battle, with the margins determined by their high-risk, high-reward power games. Currently Sabalenka is the bookies favorite at around 1.53 (-187.5) while Rybakina gives 2.55 (+150).
Rybakina’s serve has been arguably the best of the tournament, winning a very high percentage of first-serve points. Sabalenka must match this weapon and prevent Rybakina from getting easy holds.
Sabalenka’s experience from these finals can not be underestimated though and she is no 1 for a reason.
Our bets for the 2025 WTA Final, where we expect a tight battle:
- Game Handicap, Rybakina, Elena (3.5)
- At least one tie-break
