We’re into the second week of the Wimbledon Championships and even though there’s been some big upsets, the really big names are still there. One of them is of course Carlos Alcaraz, who has a tough opponent in the quarter-final in home player Cameron Norrie.
Can Norrie, the last remaining British player in either singles draw, cause an upset against the world no 2?
Cameron Norrie (World No. 61) is the last Brit standing at SW19, reaching his second Wimbledon quarterfinal after a marathon 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-7(7), 6-7(5), 6-3 win over Nicolas Jarry in the fourth round, lasting 4 hours and 27 minutes (hope you followed our predictions for Norrie v Jarry btw :). He also beat Roberto Bautista Agut, Frances Tiafoe and Mattia Bellucci, going 3-2 on grass this season. Norrieโs strong defense and sharp returning make him a fan favorite, especially with the Centre Court crowd.
Carlos Alcaraz (World No. 2) is chasing a third straight Wimbledon title. The Spaniard battled past Andrey Rublev 6-7(5), 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in the fourth round, extending his Wimbledon win streak to 18 matches. He also survived five-setters against Fabio Fognini and Jan-Lennard Struff earlier. The last two sets against Rublev shows Alcaraz is still in great form even though he had a few dips in the beginning of the Wimbledon campaign.
Head-to-Head
Alcaraz leads 4-2, with a 1-1 record in tournament finals. Norrie won their most recent clash at the 2025 Buenos Aires Open (6-4, 7-5) on clay, but Alcaraz took their last grass meeting at 2022 Wimbledon (6-4, 7-5, 6-4). Their battles are often tight, with Norrieโs 2-1 edge in their last three meetings showing he can challenge the Spaniard.
“Facing Cam is always really, really difficult. We have really difficult battles. For me, facing him is almost a nightmare, to be honest. He’s really tough from the baseline.” said Alcaraz.

Prediction and Best Bets
Alcarazโs grass dominance shows in the betting odds where he’s a huge favorite and it’s slightly over the top in our opinion.
Norrie has shown he’s a real fighter, especially on home grounds, and his form is good at the moment. Looking at the H2H he’s also shown he can compete with Alcaraz.
At this stage of a Grand Slam, I predict Alcaraz to be well prepared for a fight, and he will eventually win this match. But I can see Norrie taking at least a set here on Tuesday, to decent odds.
Prediction: Alcaraz wins in four sets.
My bet: Set Handicap Norrie (+2.5) at odds 2.20 | +120 | 6/5.
