Organizers of the 2026 BNP Paribas Open have officially announced the players prize money for this year’s tournament, which is scheduled to take place from March 4 to March 15 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California.

Widely regarded as the “Fifth Grand Slam,” the event continues its long-standing tradition of offering equal pay for both the ATP and WTA tours. However, fans and players will notice a slight shift this year as the tournament aligns with new standardized prize money structures for two-week Masters 1000 events.

Total Prize Pool

The combined prize pool for the 2026 edition is set at $18,831,450 (for both ATP and WTA). This marks a slight decrease of approximately 1.83% compared to the 2025 total. The funds are split equally between the men’s and women’s competitions, with each tour playing for a total of $9,415,725.

Singles Prize Money Breakdown

The champions of the men’s and women’s singles draws will each take home a check for $1,151,380, along with 1,000 ranking points.

While still a massive payday, the winner’s check is down from the $1.2 million awarded in 2025. Here is the round-by-round breakdown for both the ATP and WTA singles:

RoundPrize Money (USD)Ranking Points (ATP/WTA)
Winner$1,151,3801,000 / 1,000
Runner-up$612,340650 / 650
Semifinalist$340,190400 / 390
Quarterfinalist$193,645200 / 215

Round 3$61,86550 / 65
Round 2$36,11025 / 35
Round 1$24,33510 / 10

Historic Boost for Mixed Doubles

In a major move to boost excitement during the second week of the tournament, organizers have tripled the prize money for Mixed Doubles. The total pool for the mixed event has soared to $1 million, a trend we’ve seen at the US Open as well, to keep star players on the court and fans engaged as the singles draws narrow down.

Tournament Outlook

The 2026 field is headlined by world No. 1s Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka. Defending champions Jack Draper and Mirra Andreeva are both expected to return to the desert to protect their titles.

Qualifying rounds begin on March 1, with the main draw action kicking off on March 4. With the “Sunshine Double” at stake, consisting of back-to-back trophies at Indian Wells and Miami, the stakes remain as high as ever in the California desert.
