The final four at the Bank of China Hong Kong Tennis Open have been decided. Read below for quick previews and our predictions for Musetti vs Rublev and Bublik vs Giron.
Lorenzo Musetti vs. Andrey Rublev
A good clash between the tournament’s top seed and the 2024 champion. Interestingly, despite their long careers, this is only their second professional meeting. Their first encounter was nearly six years ago in Dubai, a match Rublev won in straight sets when Musetti was still young.
- Musetti: The Italian world No. 7 has looked composed this week, overcoming a slow start against Tomas Martin Etcheverry and dismissing home favorite Coleman Wong in the quarterfinals. His variety and backhand flair are well suited for the Hong Kong hard courts.
- Rublev: Rublev is always a force when he finds his rhythm. After a three-set scare in his opener against Yibing Wu, he demolished Nuno Borges 6-3, 6-4. He knows these courts well, having lifted the trophy here two years ago.
Predictions and Odds
The Italian is the slight favorite among bookmakers at 1.80 (-125) and we also predict his tactical variety and strong defense will be the edge here against Rublev. Musetti to win in two tight sets.
Alexander Bublik vs. Marcos Giron
On paper, Bublik is the heavy favorite as the world No. 11 and second seed. However, the history books tell a different story. Marcos Giron holds a surprising 3-1 head-to-head lead here, including their last three encounters.
- Bublik: Coming off a career-best 2025 season, Bublik has been efficient this week, winning all his matches in straight sets. He is currently serving at an elite level and playing with the focused intensity that has recently replaced his “trick-shot” reputation.
- Giron: The American has looked quite impressive during the week. He dominated Laslo Djere in his opener but then benefited from a retirement by Michael Mmoh in the quarterfinals.
Predictions
Giron has beaten the Kazakh three times before, and he’s been in decent form, but this is a different Bublik we’re seeing now, compared to a few years ago. Look for Bublik to win this in 2 sets, especially if he can keep up these first-serve percentages we’ve seen so far.
