Date & Time: Saturday, August 16, 2025, P&G Center Court, Cincinnati, USA.
Player form
Jannik Sinner (World No. 1, defending champion)
- Cruising through the draw without dropping a set, Sinner defeated Daniel Elahi Galán, Gabriel Diallo, Adrian Mannarino, and Felix Auger-Aliassime to reach the semi’s.
- In the quarter-final, he demolished Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 in just 71 minutes, marking his 25th consecutive win on hard courts and his 30th victory of the season.
- With this streak, Sinner joins an elite group (including Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, and Murray) who’ve achieved at least 25 straight hard-court wins in this century. Read more about Sinner and his current racquet.
Terence Atmane (Qualifier, World No. 136 ? ~69)
- Atmane, a French left-hander, rolled through qualifying and the main draw, compiling seven straight wins, five in the main draw and two in qualies.
- He defeated Taylor Fritz (top-10 seed) in the Round of 16, then stunned Holger Rune with an impressive 6-2, 6-3 win in just 73 minutes, winning 85% of first-serve points and breaking serve four times.
- His run will vault him up approximately 67 spots into the Top 100.
- Atmane has never played Sinner before, so the head-to-head reads 0–0.

Odds & Predictions
- Odds overwhelmingly favour Sinner, once again…
- Moneyline: Sinner 1.05 or -2000 vs Atmane at 12.00 or +1100
- Minus 5.5 game hcp Sinner at 1.96, plus 5.5 game hcp Atmane at 1.79.
A win for Sinner keeps him on track to defend his Cincinnati title and continues his complete dominance on hard courts ahead of the US Open. When he’s in form, there’s no one apart from Alcaraz that can disturb him much.
Atmane continues his breakout run; reaching the Masters 1000 final would be a career-defining achievement but this time the task is too hard.
Sinner’s 25-match hard-court streak, absolutely ruthless efficiency and consistency position him as heavy favourite to reach the final again.
Atmane, however, has been the surprise of the tournament and he seems to have been surprising one top player after another. He will also feel he has nothing to lose here against the world no 1. Still, it will not be enough against the form Sinner is in. Can he possibly cover the generous 5.5 hcp?

Match Preview: Ben Shelton vs Alexander Zverev
Event: 2025 Cincinnati Open (ATP Masters 1000) – Quarterfinal
Date & Time: Saturday, August 16, 2025, likely in the evening slot at Lindner Family Tennis Center, Mason, Ohio.
An interesting clash, and it’s the first match-up between top 10 players in the men’s draw in Cincy.
Player Form
Alexander Zverev (Seeded No. 3, Germany)
- Comes into the match undefeated in Cincinnati, with wins over Nishesh Basavareddy (6–3, 6–3), Brandon Nakashima (6–4, 6–4), and a retirement win over Karen Khachanov (7–5, 3–0).
- Boasts a 67.4% win rate on hard courts in 2025, with solid serving stats across the tournament.
Ben Shelton (Seeded No. 5, USA)
- Riding a wave of 9 straight wins (Toronto and Cincinnati), including his first Masters 1000 title in Canada, where he beat Khachanov in a three-set final.
- In Cincinnati, advanced with a retirement win over Carabelli, followed by victories against Bautista Agut and Lehecka (6–4, 6–4).
- Accumulated two wins over top-10 players in 2025 (de Minaur and Fritz).
Head-to-Head
- Overall H2H: Zverev leads 3–0, with only one win on hard courts, at Cincinnati last year in a three-set battle.
- Both players rely heavily on strong serves, Shelton wins 87% of his service games vs Zverev’s 84%.
Odds & Predictions
- Bookmakers give Zverev a narrow edge:
- Currently Zverev gives an odds of 1.67 or -150 while Shelton gives 2.25 or +125.
- Game hcp line is at 1.5 point and the odds around 1.87 or -115. Zverev mins 1.5 and Shelton plus 1.5.
Zverev is aiming for his third consecutive semifinal in Cincinnati (won the title in 2021) and to build momentum ahead of the US Open.
Can Ben Shelton continue his fine form? A win would mark another milestone in his breakout season.
Zverev’s experience and perfect record against Shelton make him the slight favourite, but Shelton’s current form, confidence, and home support should push this to three tight sets. Our bet? Over 2.5 sets
