Yibing Wu

Yibing Wu is Chinese player with 1 ATP title and a career high rank of 54, but what is Yibing Wu’s current racquet and strings setup?

Yibing Wu’s tennis racquet

Yibing Wu’s racquet is a HEAD Radical, but it is difficult to say whether it is the Radical Pro or MP mold. It is painted like the Radical 2025 racquets (click for our review), but is likely an older version. Racquets popular with the pros are the TGT 307 mold (first gen Graphene, which is stiffer and more powerful) and the TGT 351 or 352, which is the Graphene 360+ mold/layup before Auxetic tech.

He strings it with a white string these days, I would guess it is HEAD Sonic Pro white, which is also used by other pros. If you know tension and customization of Yibing Wu’s racquet, please comment below.

Bio and Career

Yibing Wu was born on October 14th, 1999, in Hangzhou, China, and he started playing tennis at the age of six.

Turning pro in 2017, Wu reached a junior peak of number 1, winning the 2017 US Open boys singles title over Axel Geller, the first Chinese player to claim a junior Grand Slam.

His breakthrough came in 2022, winning three ATP Challenger titles (Rome, Indianapolis, Orlando), making him China’s most decorated Challenger player, and reaching the US Open third round, the first Chinese man to reach a Grand Slam third round since 1946.

In 2023, he made history at the Dallas Open, upsetting then world no 8 Taylor Fritz to become the first Chinese man in the Open Era to reach and win an ATP final, defeating John Isner 6-7(4), 7-6(3), 7-6(12) after saving four championship points. Injuries sidelined him for much of 2024, but in 2025, ranked No. 243, he won his sixth Challenger title at the Texas Spine and Joint Championships in Tyler and defeated Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-1 at the Washington Open, his first ATP win of the season.
