Marta Kostyuk is a Ukrainian WTA player with a career-high rank of world no 16 in singles (June 2024), but what is Kostyuk’s current racquet setup?

Kostyuk’s tennis racquet

Marta Kostyuk is yet another player using a Wilson Blade 98. Which Blade is it? The classic kBlade that so many pros use? It is difficult to know without being able to test the racquet or at least see it up close. In Kostyuk’s case, it is the popular Wilson Steam 100 BLX, used by Andreeva, Badosa, Raducanu, Parry, and Anisimova to name a few. This racquet is more powerful and forgiving than the Blade 98, but sadly can only be bought as a pro stock these days.

She strings her racquets with Luxilon 4G, similar to Stefanos Tsitsipas and Mirra Andreeva.

Kostyuk is sponsored by Wilson and is involved in designing and deciding about the dressed and outfits she wears. She is becoming quite known for her stylish and unique looks on the tennis court.

Bio and Career

Marta Kostyuk was born on June 28th, 2002, in Kyiv, Ukraine, and is known for her aggressive all-court game and powerful serve. She began playing tennis at the age of 5 when she was training with her mother.

Turning pro in 2016, Kostyuk peaked at no 2 in the junior rankings, winning the 2017 Australian Open girls singles title among other achievements. She became the youngest Ukrainian player to win an ITF event without dropping a single set.

Her breakthrough came in 2018 at the Australian Open, where, as a 15-year-old wildcard, she reached the third round, defeating no 27 Peng Shuai to become the youngest player to win a main-draw match there since Martina Hingis in 1996.

Kostyuk won her maiden WTA singles title at the 2023 ATX Open in Austin, defeating Varvara Gracheva, and reached two WTA 500 finals in 2024 (San Diego and Stuttgart).

Her biggest career moment came at the 2024 Australian Open, reaching her first Grand Slam quarterfinal, falling to Coco Gauff.

She is currently ranked No. 27 and reached the 2025 Italian Open fourth round, eventually losing to Aryna Sabalenka.

Some key wins include beating Gauff (2024 Qatar Open), Pegula (2024 San Diego) and Rybakina (2023 Adelaide). Kostyuk has one WTA singles title, two WTA doubles titles (2022 Portoroz, 2023 Birmingham), three ITF singles titles, and a 9-16 Top 10 record.
