Elina Svitolina's Signature Axis 98

As we had previously reported, Elina Svitolina signed a partnership with Diadem sports in early January 2025 and she began using the Diadem Axis 98 racquet for the start of the 2025 season.

As part of this collaboration, Diadem introduced a signature version of their high-performance Axis 98 racquet, featuring a custom colorway designed for the Ukrainian champion. It’s the same frame she has played with recently, but with a new paint job.

Here is everything you need to know about the Svitolina Signature Axis 98.

A new identity for a new era

For years, Svitolina was known for playing with the Wilson Steam 99. Her switch to the Diadem Axis 98 marked a shift in her career, coinciding with her successful return to the top tier of the WTA rankings. With the new Diadem frame she reached the QF’s in both Australia and at Roland Garros.

Now with the recent 19th career WTA title in Auckland, we might see the current WTA no 12 further climb the ranks this season.

The signature colorway is more than just a fresh coat of paint; it represents Svitolina’s direct involvement in the brand. The design is meant to reflect her aggressive yet controlled playing style, moving away from the standard Diadem teal and yellow aesthetics into a more personalised look that shows her partnership with the brand and she was very hands on in the design process.

The design includes her personal brand logo and the Diadem diamonds, and some patterns around the hoop was inspired by a luxury handbag. The Ukrainian flag and her personal logo can be seen on the inside of the throat.

“I am so proud to release my own signature racquet with Diadem. To be involved in the design process and see my ideas and vision is a dream come true. I absolutely loved being part of the process with the team and working to make my ideas a reality. The racquet is not only beautiful but it is like an extension of my arm, I feel like I can do anything with the Diadem Axis, now it looks super cool, it makes me feel extra special on the court.” said Svitolina

Key technologies

The Axis 98 is engineered to be a spin machine that doesn’t sacrifice the stability required for competitive play. One of the most notable features of the Svitolina Axis 98 is of course the 16×20 string pattern.

It features several proprietary Diadem technologies:

  • FS3 Carbon Stabilization: An evolution of their Flex Stabilization System, FS3 uses a triple-rib design combined with high-density foam and HMT Carbon to prevent the frame from twisting on impact.
  • Precision + Strike Zone: The string bed is designed so the densest area is shifted slightly higher in the frame. This aligns with where modern aggressive players naturally make contact, providing a more consistent feel and better depth.
  • Air Foil Frame Design: The aerodynamic shape of the beam allows for faster swing speeds, making it easier to whip through the ball and generate heavy topspin.
  • Kraibon Dampening: To ensure the racquet is comfortable for long matches, Diadem integrated Kraibon (an advanced elastomer used in aerospace) to filter out harsh vibrations.
