Fritz vs Shapovalov – ATP Miami Masters Prediction & Betting Tips

The second round of the Paris Olympics tennis continues on Tuesday 30th July, with one of the more interesting match-ups being Taylor Fritz vs Jack Draper.

USA’s Taylor Fritz had a fairly tough draw in the first round against Alexander Bublik, where he looked solid from the first ball, kept his serve well, found some nice drop shots, and came out with a 6-4, 6-4 victory.

Britain’s Jack Draper has shown some great tennis in recent weeks (including a win in Stuttgart) and is always interesting to follow. He faced Kei Nishikori in the first round and won 6-1, 6-4 after cruising in the first set and saving a lot of break-point chances for the Japanese in the second set. Overall he looks to be improving on clay.

H2H Stats

Fritz and Draper are even at 1-1 on their 2 meetings on the tour. The American has a clay court win this year in Munich (a very even match) while Draper won on grass at the Queen’s Club back in 2022.

Predictions for Fritz vs Draper

Taylor Fritz, currently at no 12 in the rankings, is quite a clear favorite at the betting sites, at odds 1.37 while Draper pays 2.95. Too much difference? Maybe.

This is an encounter with two in-form players but I would say Fritz is the stronger on clay recently, with a 14-6 record on the surface for the season. Conditions are slightly slower here which might benefit The Brit though.

Prediction: Fritz to advance to the next round, but it won’t be easy, and I can see Draper take a set. My bets:

  • Game Handicap, Draper (+3.5) – Odds 1.67 | -150
  • 2-1 Set betting Fritz – Odds 3.50 | +250
