The women’s 2025 China Open in Beijing culminates in a good Sunday final between two of the tour’s most in-form players – third seed Amanda Anisimova and 26th seed Linda Noskova.
Road to the Final
Amanda Anisimova (USA)
Anisimova has had a solid season to say the least. With runner-up finishes at Wimbledon and the US Open, the 24-year-old arrives in Beijing playing some of the best tennis of her career.
After two straight-set victories to open her campaign, she dug deep through back-to-back three-set battles against Karolina Muchova and Jasmine Paolini, showing renewed patience under pressure.
Her semifinal was a real statement, a 6-1, 6-2 demolition of defending champion Coco Gauff in just 58 minutes. The American’s trademark first-strike power and clean ball-striking overwhelmed Gauff from start to finish.
Linda Noskova (CZE)
At 20, Noskova continues to build on her breakout year. The Czech baseliner’s fearless play has gotten her through a demanding draw in Beijing, including straight-set wins over Anastasia Potapova and Sonay Kartal.
Her signature moment came in the semifinals, where she stunned fifth seed Jessica Pegula 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (6), saving three match points and rallying from 2-5 down in the final set tiebreak. That victory secured her a first career WTA 1000 final, making her the youngest Czech finalist at this level in over three decades.
Head-to-Head: 1–1
The pair have split their two career meetings, each decided by narrow margins:
2023 Indian Wells (Hard): Noskova won 7-6 (6), 6-3
2025 Wimbledon (Grass): Anisimova won 6-2, 5-7, 6-4
Both encounters featured tight baseline exchanges and early-strike tennis, with neither player afraid to step inside the court.
Predictions for Anisimova vs Noskova
For Anisimova, a title in Beijing would crown a comeback season that has re-established her among the elite. The confidence will be high after that semifinal win over Gauff but she has lost finals before (her last three actually) though and I think it will be tough this time again.
For Noskova, it’s a chance to announce herself fully, a first WTA 1000 trophy and a potential Top-10 breakthrough. Can she control her aggressive play in the most important games in the Beijing final?
Prediction: Anisimova to win a final this time, over three sets, and lift the China Open trophy.
