Today’s best bet at the ATP Shanghai, Fritz vs Marozsan.

Today’s second-round match at the Rolex Shanghai Masters features a clash between the American Taylor Fritz and the Hungarian Fabian Marozsan.

This is the first match for the American, as the 5th seed, Fritz received a first-round bye. He comes into Shanghai with very solid form, having reached the final of the ATP 500 event in Tokyo recently. A semi-finalist in Shanghai last year, he’ll surely be keen to make a deep run again.

Fabian Marozsan has already secured his first win at the tournament, defeating legend Stan Wawrinka in three sets in the first round (watch below). The 25-year-old Hungarian is a dangerous opponent, with an aggressive game and a strong serve. We’ve seen him pull off upsets in the past.

Head-to-Head: Fritz leads the head-to-head 1-0, having defeated Marozsan in a four-set battle at the 2024 Australian Open.

Predictions and Odds

Fritz enters the match as the clear favorite at betting odds around 1.30 (-300), mostly given his higher ranking, great current form on hard courts and previous victory over Marozsan. His game is well-suited to the fast Shanghai courts but we also have to take into consideration a busy schedule for the world no 4.

Marozsan, fresh off a win and with nothing to lose, will look to apply pressure right away. Currently at odds 3.60 (+260) for a win today. If Marozsan can serve consistently and find his range with his aggressive groundstrokes, he could certainly make this a tricky contest.

Prediction: Fritz in three sets.

Interesting odds:

  • 1st Set Winner – Marozsan – 2.85 or +185
  • Total GamesOver 22.5 – 1.88 or -114
