The Adidas Y-3 Collection is a collaboration between Adidas and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. Since its debut in the early 2000s, Y-3 has redefined the way sportswear can merge with high fashion. They have just released a new collection for the US Open 2025 endorsed by athletes like Stefanos Tsitsipas, Maria Sakkari and Alexander Zverev.
What is Y-3?
The “Y” stands for Yohji Yamamoto, while the “3” represents Adidas’s iconic three stripes. Y-3 symbolizes a blend of avant-garde design and athletic heritage. It for sure looks different than what you might be used to on a tennis court.

Seeing tennis players like Auger-Aliassime and Tien playing the US Open with the same designed jersey left me intrigued.. What does it represent? And what does Y-3 stands for ?
Nice new look for Adidas!
Better than the monochrome
Nike outfits that look ugly!
I’m a big fan of Adidas but not a fan of the graphics on Y3 tennis uniforms featured at the US Open. I’m not sure what black, rust and beige figure represents, but I am sure that it’s not very attractive.
That’s the most hideous design I’ve seen. It looks like a combination of dried blood stains and poop. You should read the Twitter comments. Every adidas designer should be fired. Maybe Cracker Barrel can use some of them.
I love the color and design of the Y-3 collection. Very exciting, different and bold. Jessica Pegula wore it well!
This design is fugly!
What is the blob on the white dress? It looks like the player fell in the mud.
Why isn’t Felix Auger-Aliasseme mentioned?
What an ugly shirt. I saw Pegula wearing, who always wears horrible outfits, and thought it was a Llama on the side. Now more players are wearing it? Good grief, hideous.
This new design looks like a big horrible smear of blood and mud or crap. It’s not something I would wear.
Loved Felix’s shoes. His whole outfit was one of the best. Expensive though.
