What is the United Cup?
The United Cup is a hard-court tournament with mixed-gender teams from 18 various countries. It’s actually the only mixed-gender team event to give both ATP rankings and WTA rankings points to the players.
The tournament features 18 teams, divided into six groups with three teams each. In the group stage, teams play round-robin matches. These matches include one men’s singles, one women’s singles and one mixed doubles match. The group winners, along with the best second-placed team, will advance to the quarter-finals.
This is the first real tournament of the year and we’ll be able to directly see some top tennis stars in action, with nine of the world’s top 20 male players participating. These including Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. The women’s competition is equally competitive, featuring five of the top 10 female players, such as Iga Swiatek, Jessica Pegula and Marketa Vondrousova.
Prize Money
This tournament will offer a minimum of US $10 million in total prize money, with at least of US $5 million each for ATP and WTA players. Note that this includes participant fees as well. The winner of the singles final will get $251,000.

Betting Tips
Betting on the United Cup presents some unique challenges, and also opportunities, due to its distinctive format.
Understand the Format
- Team Dynamics: Pay close attention to the composition of each team. Stronger teams might not just have the best individual players, but those who perform well in doubles and mixed doubles.
- Match Types: Singles and doubles matches can yield different outcomes. Some players excel in singles but might not perform as well in doubles, and vice versa.
Player Performances
- Current Form: Look at recent performances of players, not just in individual tournaments but also in team events, if applicable.
- Head-to-Head Records: Consider the historical performance of players against their specific opponents in the tournament.
Consider the Surface
- Court Surface: The United Cup is played on hard courts. Some players have a better record on this surface than others, so factor this into your betting decisions.
4. Factor in Team Strategy
- Player Rotation: Teams might rotate players to manage fatigue. Stay updated on team line-ups and player rotations, as this can significantly impact match outcomes.
- Mixed Doubles: This format can be unpredictable and we might see some high odds. Look for teams with players who have experience and success in mixed doubles.
5. Watch for Upsets
- Underdog Advantage: In a team format, underdogs often rise to the occasion. Be open to betting on lower-ranked teams or players, especially if they show strong team chemistry or have a home-court advantage.
6. Live Betting Strategy
- Momentum Shifts: In live betting, pay attention to momentum shifts within and across matches. A team that wins a crucial singles match might carry that momentum into the doubles.
Betting on the United Cup requires a balanced approach, considering individual player skills, team dynamics and the unique format of the tournament.
