As we move into the last big event of the season in N.Y., Nike has presented its latest New York Slam collection, part of its broader “Slam City” concept. In this season’s designs we see hoops-inspired silhouettes and New York street-court culture.
Here is a breakdown of some of the more notable pieces in the new 2026 Nike New York collection for both men and women.
Men’s Apparel
The most striking thing of the men’s lineup is how clearly it borrows from basketball’s design language.
- Sinner-Specific Pieces: The collection features some pieces designed specifically for Jannik Sinner, most notably the New York Slam Sinner Polo and Court New York Slam Sinner Jacket. These pieces mix classic tennis structures with modern athletic cuts, keeping it professional but adding a more relaxed, urban look.
- Alcaraz Button-Up: maybe the most unconventional item in the collection is the New York Slam Alcaraz Button-Up Shirt. It moves away from the traditional technical polo, and it’s instead a more lifestyle-forward aesthetic that will probably divide opinions.
- Performance Shorts: The shorts in the collection, including the New York Slam 7″ Alcaraz Short and New York Slam Pocket 7″ Sinner Short, prioritize freedom of movement while keeping practical details such as good pockets for the courts. The result is a more relaxed silhouette without abandoning the functionality we would expect from Nike.

Women’s Apparel: Texture and Layering
The women’s collection focuses on elevated textures and versatile layering, moving beyond the standard tank-and-skirt combinations often seen during the summer hard-court swing.
- Mesh Innovation: A standout is the New York Slam Mesh Dress. By using mesh throughout the design, Nike brings a lightweight, breathable construction together with a visual texture inspired by basket apparel. A distinct alternative to the more conventional performance fabrics normally associated with tennis dresses.
- The Court Studio Hoodie: When thinking of pre- and post-match comfort, the New York Court Studio Hoodie (pic at the bottom) provides a sleek modern layer.
- Cohesive Separates: The New York Slam Tank and New York Slam Skirt provide an alternative to the dress-based looks. Clean lines and structured detailing create a sharp athletic silhouette without making the overall look overly busy.

This is a collection that feels distinctly tied to its location, incorporating basketball-inspired elements and a more urban New York aesthetic. Rather than simply adapting traditional tennis silhouettes, Nike wants to use the energy of New York to rethink what tennis apparel can look like.
