Davidovich Fokina – Auger-Aliassime: 15.01.2025

H2H: 0-6

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina has won three of his last five matches. Last week in Adelaide, the Spaniard reached the second round, losing against Korda in straight sets. Yesterday, in the opening round of the Australian Open, Alejandro won the opening set against Shang 7-6. Juncheng retired in the second set when the Spaniard was 5-2 up. Last season was a disappointing season for Davidovich Fokina. He had no remarkable results and underperformed on every surface. Last year in Melbourne, Alejandro reached the second round, losing against Nuno Borges in straight sets.

Felix Auger-Aliassime has won six straight matches. Last week in Adelaide, Felix won the title, winning against Korda in the final in three tight sets. With this title, Felix now has six ATP titles under his name. The young Canadian started this season by playing in the United Cup. He lost his opening match against Coric but defeated Fritz shortly after that. Yesterday, in the opening round of the Australian Open, Felix defeated Struff in four sets, as we predicted. Last year in the Australian Open, Felix reached the third round, losing against Medvedev in straight sets.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Auger-Aliassime is the favorite in this matchup, and we agree with this. Felix played well in his opening match against Struff. He has already won one ATP title this season and is fully confident. On the other hand, Alejandro almost lost the opening set against Shang and made many unforced errors in the first two sets. We expect Felix to continue his winning streak against Davidovich Fokina.

That being said, Felix covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Felix Auger-Aliassime -4.5 games handicap @1.80 | -125

Djokovic – Faria: 15.01.2025 04:00 CEST

H2H: first meeting

Novak Djokovic has won four of his last five matches. Last week in Brisbane, Djokovic reached the quarterfinals, losing against Opelka in straight sets. In the opening Australian Open round, Novak defeated Basavareddy in four sets yesterday. Nishesh kept the match tight, as we predicted.  Novak is historically looking the best player in the Australian Open. He already has 10 titles here in Melbourne and is once again one of the biggest favorites to win. Novak reached the semifinals in the Australian Open last year, losing against Sinner in four sets.

Jaime Faria has won four of his last five matches. He successfully qualified for the main draw tournament. In the opening main draw round, Faria defeated Kotov in straight sets. He was unplayable. Jaime offered and saved both breakpoints. This is the biggest success of his young career.

Best Bet to Make

According to the bookies, Djokovic is the big favorite in this matchup, and we partially agree. Faria has been incredible this week in Melbourne. We expect him to keep this match tighter than what the bookies think. Novak played solidly in the opening round, but it is still far from his best level.

That being said, Faria covering the games handicap is a value bet.

Value bet/ the best odds: Jaime Faria +8.5 games handicap @2.10 | +110
